Constructed differently.
How We Approach Construction.
1
What are you looking for?
We get a full understanding of what you want out of this project so that we can tailor our construction knowledge to your needs.
2
Communication.
We will be by your side throughout the design, construction, and opening process of your practice. We know construction can be stressful, so we take every opportunity to keep you informed and up to date on the projects timeline.
3
Teamwork.
Every project we do requires teamwork from start to finish. We will work with you to ensure that your dream practice is built.
Construction can be intimidating.
That's why we strive to keep you updated throughout the process, ensuring clear communication and a collaborative approach. We believe in making every step transparent, from initial planning to the final touches, so you can feel confident and involved at every stage. Your peace of mind is our top priority, as we transform your vision into reality.
Here is what our process looks like:
Book a call with us.
We will go over your ideas, plans, and goals for your practice.
See how far along in the process you are. Do you already have a location? If not, we can give advice for finding a good location based on our experience.
Explain our process to you and see if we are a good fit.
Design.
We will work with you to create architect stamped construction plans. This process can take between 1-3 months depending on the level of engineering involved and is the most important stage of construction.
We will help you choose what you want the clinic to look like, the layout, equipment location, flooring, wall color, etc.
This stage is when we are able to determine the true cost to complete the project now that we know what materials and complexities are involved.
Proposal.
Now that the projects construction plans are completed and the architect has sent them to the local municipalities to begin the permitting process, we will send you a detailed proposal breaking down the cost of completing your clinic.
The proposal will include the costs as well as a timeline for the project based on the construction plans.
Construction.
Once you approve our proposal the next step is to go into contract to build your practice. We will send you a construction contract with the schedules on it.
Now that contract is signed, we will pull the permits from the local municipality and submit a notice of commencement to begin our construction process.
At this time, we will also create an account for you in our online construction portal. This will allow you to receive daily updates from the job site, as well as see an updated version of the schedule. If anyone on our team updates the schedule, it will be updated within your portal as well. We also have the ability to send questions about your preferences that you can easily answer within the portal.
We will work diligently to ensure that your job stays on schedule, and everything is done to the highest standard. We will work with you and keep you updated every day throughout this process.
Business planning.
While the construction is taking place to build your new clinic, we will work with you to ensure you are ready to open as soon as possible after construction is completed.
We will have “check ins” with you where we help you make the choices that are important to the success of your new practice.
We will give our recommendations for the best practice management software, payment processors, client communications systems, website developer, hiring practices, and answer any questions you may have.
This way, as the construction completion date gets closer, you are confident and ready to start accepting clients and treating patients.
Construction Completion.
When we have completed all of our final inspections, we contact the local municipality to allow you to receive your Certificate of Occupancy. This means that your clinic is no longer a jobsite and you can start accepting clients.
Post Construction.
We go beyond the scope of a traditional contractor with our post construction “check ins”. We will reach out to you each month for 3 months to check in and see if there are any questions you may have that we can help you with.
We will be available to you when any of your questions arise and will do everything we can to help you.
FAQs
How long will it take to build my practice?
Construction time for a Veterinary clinic will vary depending on the details and requirements for that job. Typically, the first step is to design the practice and get a set of plans created and stamped by an architect. This process can take anywhere from 1-3 months depending on the complexity. Once there is an official set of construction plans, we are able to give you a construction timeline and schedule. The actual construction may take 4 months to build a practice in a pre-existing building or shopping center, or it could take a year to build a practice from the ground up.
Where do I start?
Navigating the process of starting a clinic, hiring a contractor, and building your practice can be daunting. If you are wondering what to do first here is the list of steps we would take, in order:
Find a location.
Have a floor plan created, this is a top-down view of how your clinics layout. If you need help with this step, give us a call.
Contact us to start the design process and get a set of construction plans created and sent to the local municipality for permitting approval.
From here, we can help you with every other step along the way.
Do you do remodels?
Yes, we also do remodels. There are additional complexities in remodeling an existing practice if the practice wants to remain open. However, this is something we have experience in. The key to remodeling an existing practice is organization and communication.
